Cláudia MendesInternational Financial Planner
Cláudia was born in a small town called Welkom in the Free State, South Africa. She studied at the University of Johannesburg, where she obtained her B-Com Honours in Financial Planning and later obtained a diploma in Investments through the University of the Free State. Cláudia joined Alexander Forbes for 11 years before relocating to Cascais, Portugal where is is now one of Sable Wealth's cross border financial advisors.
She is a Certified Financial Planner, is a member of the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) in South Africa, an Associate member (ASCI) for the Chartered Institute For Securities & Investment (CISI) in the UK, is a member of the Federation of European Independent Financial Advisers (FEIFA) in Europe, and holds an Advance Certification with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
As a cross border financial planner, Cláudia assists clients who are from, or have a link to, multiple jurisdictions which include SA, the UK, the EU and the US.
In her free time, she loves spending time outdoors, staying active and socialising with family and friends.

Monique ChapmanClient Relations Specialist
Monique graduated from the University of Cape Town, where she dual majored in economics and finance. With a keen interest in financial markets and a fascination with global economics, she joined Sable International in 2011.
Monique is always up for a challenge and believes in hard work and measurable results. In her current role as Client Relationship Specialist, she strives to make sure the customer always comes first.
When not at work, Monique enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading and baking.

Rayarn BarnesParaplanner
Rayarn, a Stellenbosch University graduate with a BCom in Management Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning, successfully navigated the CFP board exam, earning membership in the esteemed CFP community. Driven by a passion for financial guidance, he aspires to become a trusted adviser.
His insatiable curiosity and commitment to personal and professional growth make him an enthusiastic learner. Always ready to embrace new challenges, Rayarn continuously seeks opportunities to expand his knowledge and refine his character.
Outside the financial realm, he finds joy exploring the nexus of nature and city life. An avid sports fan, he relishes moments watching games with friends.

Ian HenningIndependent Financial Planner and Mortgage Adviser
Ian grew up in South Africa and moved to the UK in 2004. He kick-started his financial career with Sable International as a mortgage advisor.
After this, he moved to Kinleigh Financial Services where he worked as a mortgage broker for four years.
Ian then returned to Sable International. In 2013, he obtained his Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and has been helping his clients with all their investment and mortgage needs ever since. Ian also runs the mortgage team at Sable and is part of the investment committee.
He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.

Bill MontyIndependent Financial Planner and Mortgage Adviser
Bill grew up in Durban, on the East Coast of South Africa, where he attended Durban High School.
He previously worked as a claims, service and retention manager with Neilson Financial Services, before joining Sable International's wealth team. Bill focuses on individual and corporate financial planning, mortgage advice and company employee benefits such as auto enrolment and insurance.
He is energetic, driven, loyal and enjoys spending time with his two children. When he has a spare moment, he manages to squeeze in a bit of fly fishing, snooker and golf.

Mullisa BaatjesMortgage Liaison Officer
Mullisa is a dedicated linguistics professional holding a Master's degree in Linguistics, currently pursuing CeMap (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) studies part-time while excelling in a career at Sable International, where she has served for over eight years. She supports mortgage advisers by managing all communications with lenders, solicitors, estate agents, and clients to ensure seamless mortgage application processes.
Having already passed CeMap 1, she combines linguistic expertise with a growing knowledge of mortgages, contributing significantly to the company's success.
Outside of work and studies, Mullisa leads a fulfilling personal life as a devoted spouse and parent to two children. She enjoys exploring her city's cultural gems, frequenting museums, and visiting iconic historical sites to enrich her understanding of language and culture.
In her leisure time, Mullisa indulges in outdoor pursuits such as hiking, beach walks, and camping, which complement her academic and professional endeavours. Her diverse interests and commitment to continuous learning reflect her proactive approach to personal and professional growth.

Stephane BothaWealth Administrator
Stephane’s career in the finance industry began in 2017 when she relocated to Cape Town from the North West province. She previously worked at a Liberty Life franchise as a Paraplanner where her focus was on insurance and investments.
She joined Sable International in 2021 as a Wealth Administrator and aspires to further expand her knowledge within the company.
On the weekends, she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

Ané CardisParaplanner Team Leader
Ané grew up in Cape Town and completed her BComm studies at Stellenbosch University in 2014. In 2015 she went on to obtain her postgraduate diploma in financial planning through the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Ané is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Financial Planning Institute.
Ané previously worked for Sanlam and joined the Sable Wealth team as a Paraplanner in 2018. She assists the financial advisers and clients with the research, technical and product knowledge as well as the implementation of the advice given.
Ané loves spending time with her husband, daughter and family and thoroughly enjoys gardening and reading.

Julian AdshadeWealth Adviser
Julian grew up in South Africa and the UK and previously worked in wealth management for some of South Africa’s largest banks.
He holds several financial planning qualifications including a postgraduate diploma in financial planning from Stellenbosch University. He is a Certified Financial Planner® and a member of the Financial Planning Institute of South Africa. He is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK.
Julian specialises in advising South Africans on internationalising their wealth, South African’s relocating to the UK and on the odd occasion South Africans returning from abroad.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children or up a mountain on his mountain bike or attempting to play golf.

Lauren MeeserBusiness Director: Sable Wealth
Lauren has an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the University of the Free State in South Africa and obtained a Diploma for Financial Advisers from the London Institute of Banking & Finance.
She has been working in the financial planning industry since 2005 and previously worked as a practice manager and as a financial planner. She is a Certified Financial Planner® professional and a member of the Financial Planning Institute.
At Sable International, Lauren is responsible for the operational and compliance overview for both the South African and UK offices.
Outside of work, she enjoys going to the theatre.

Niel PretoriusWealth Director - Head of Cross Border and Technical
Niel grew up in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. After being admitted as an attorney in 1999, he spent nine years practising in family law, estate planning as well as litigation.
His career in finance began in 2008 after qualifying and specialising in offshore financial services. Prior to joining Sable International, he worked in Cape Town and Zambia as consultant and country manager for a large international financial consultancy.
Niel specialises in offshore structuring and planning, with cross-border trust, tax and succession planning being his speciality.
He enjoys being outdoors in the African bush and in the ocean.
