Nottingham University is offering a number of scholarships to qualifying students from around the world in their business school including their MBA and Masters programmes.

Last year, Nottingham University Business School made over 300 scholarship offers to high-performing applicants from 50 different countries, aiming to attract the best students from around the world. They continue to extend these opportunities to qualifying students from around the world in 2022.

The below funding opportunities apply to September 2022 starters only. All scholarships are on a first come first served basis, and students must accept their offer within two weeks of the scholarship being offered. 

Business School Masters Scholarships for 2022

Regional Scholarships - Africa

The university is offering 15 scholarships worth 50% of tuition fees to applicants from Africa.

If a student holds, or is predicted to achieve, the equivalent of a high UK 2:1 (65% or higher) in their undergraduate studies, their application will be automatically considered for the above scholarships after receiving their offer. 

MBA specific scholarships 

A number of scholarships are available for full-time MBA and EMBA courses. Students can benefit from a scholarship between 20% to 50% of the course fees.

Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship

The University of Nottingham offers a wide range of country and region-specific scholarships for international students, including the flagship Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship.

The flagship Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship was founded in 2001. This scholarship programme is for international students who want to make a difference to the development of their home country.

The university is offering 105 scholarships covering 50% or 100% of full-time masters’ tuition fees. These are available for high-achieving international students who live in Africa, India or selected Commonwealth countries.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be domiciled in Africa, India or one of the selected Commonwealth countries listed below*
  • Be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
  • Hold an offer to start a full-time masters programme (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham UK in September or October 2022, studying in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science or Faculty of Social Sciences
* Eligible countries:
Africa (all nations), Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kiribati, Malaysia, Maldives, Montserrat, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St Helena, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tristan da Cunha, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Application criteria

In your application, you will be asked about your achievements, study plans and reasons for choosing to study at the University of Nottingham. You should also evidence how studying at the University of Nottingham will help you contribute to the development of your home country.

Make sure you have enough time to prepare strong answers. You will be assessed on your responses and academic merit when making scholarship decisions.

Africa Postgraduate Excellence Award

Unlock your potential with the Africa Postgraduate Excellence Award, covering a £4,000 contribution towards tuition fees.

Scholarships are being offered towards full-time masters tuition fees for high-achieving international students who live in Africa.

Outstanding students applying for masters courses in the Faculty of Engineering are eligible for a scholarship of £6,000. Eligibility for these awards will be assessed by the scholarship panel, so  students only need to submit a standard Postgraduate Excellence Award application to be considered for both the higher value award and the £4,000 or £6,000 scholarship.

To apply for this scholarship, you must:
  • Be domiciled in Africa
  • Be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes
  • Hold an offer to start a full-time masters programme (including MRes) in any subject area at the University of Nottingham UK in September or October 2022
Application criteria

In your application, you will be asked about your achievements, study plans and reasons for choosing to study at the University of Nottingham. Make sure you have enough time to prepare strong answers. You will be assessed on your responses and academic merit when making scholarship decisions.

Africa Undergraduate Excellence Award

Scholarships are being offered to high-achieving international students who live in Africa, covering £2,000 or £7,000 towards tuition fees in the first year of your degree course.

Eligibility

To apply for this scholarship, you must:
  • Be domiciled in any African country
  • Be classed as an 'overseas' student for tuition fee purposes
  • Hold an offer to begin any full-time undergraduate degree programme at the University of Nottingham in September 2022
Scholarship criteria

You do not need to respond to your offer in the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) before submitting your application for this scholarship. However, awards will only be made to students who firmly accept their offer to study with the university in UCAS.

Scholarships will be awarded after assessing all scholarship applications, and you may be offered a scholarship of either £2,000 or £7,000. You will be contacted in early June 2022 to confirm the outcome of your application.
